OLYMPIC bronze medallist and former Newent Community School pupil Vicky Holland has been selected for next year’s Commonwealth Games.
Holland, who won bronze in Rio de Janerio last summer in the triathlon, was called up to represent England after qualifying by finishing fifth in the World Series in Yokohama.
That result, coupled with her medal from Rio, guaranteed her an automatic spot on the team for next year’s event on the Gold Coast in Australia.
Holland tweeted saying she was ‘delighted’ to be going to her second Commonwealth Games, following up her double medal performance in 2014.
