THE Forest's premier basketball club could fold after more than 30 years if new blood isn't instilled, according to club coordinator Simon La Porta.

The Coleford Cheetahs Basketball Club was initially formed by a group of friends in the 1980s.

Numbers have been extremely low in the last few months and Simon is worried for the club's future.

"I think there's a bit of apathy towards basketball, but I don't really know why numbers have been dwindling," he said.

In recent weeks the club has had as little as three players turning up for training.

"We're looking for anyone who wants to come along," said Simon.

"You have to be over 16 but we've got a good friendly bunch of people.

"In the past we've been on tours to places like Poland and France. It's a good club to join."

Training is held every Thursday evening at Five Acres Leisure Centre from 7.30-8.30pm.
