Macclesfield 35

CINDERFORD built up a 24-11 advantage by the interval – only for a resurgent Macclesfield team to overturn the deficit in the second-half and gain their first victory in seven matches.

Cinderford earned a try-scoring bonus point in the first-half with efforts from Nevaro Codlin (2), Will Foden and Mike Wilcox. Rory Teague added two conversions.

The home side kept themselves in contention with a try from number eight Frankie Barker and two penalties from Tom Eaton.

Macclesfield came out firing in the second-half and Barker soon went over for his second try, which was quickly followed by another unconverted effort from Charlie Mulchrone.

With 10 ten minutes remaining the home side forged in front for the first time when Josh Fowles touched down.

Disaster struck for the Foresters after they attempted to run the ball from behind their own posts.

A dropped pass enabled Ryan Parkinson to gather up and score the simplest of tries, which Eaton again converted.

Cinderford's Danny Trigg came on as a late replacement to make his 200th first XV appearance in the closing stages and there was still time for Cinderford to be awarded a penalty-try.

The home side twice infringed at a 5m scrummage, at least giving the visitors the consolation of a second bonus point.
