THE closure of a footbridge in Lydney, due to concerns about its safety, has hindered access to the town's tennis club.

The bridge over the river Lyd was open to the general public but was closed in October due to health and safety concerns.

Crossing the bridge was the quickest way to reach Lydney Tennis Club but now members have been forced to take a longer route, crossing the recreational field past the skate park.
