THE final round of this year's Forest Fours was keenly contested at Lightmoor and Steam Mills.

The league started back in April and has provided some close encounters.

The Iffers Blue side ruled again with another fine performance to clinch the league title.

Their win was highly deserved due to their consistency.

They fielded the same team of four – Andy Prosser, Wayne Meek, Alan Simmonds and Bob Williams – in every round.

Their task in the final round was made even easier by the Cormorants, Rebels and Wye Angling all having bad days.

All the best weights were at Lightmoor where Andy Prosser took the A section individual honours by more than 10 pounds.

Andy caught steadily for victory, with team-mate and B section winner Alan Simmonds finishing second.

At Steam Mills, Keith Hull of Iffers Yellow came first with just over eight pounds. Ross Hale (Bream Reapers) was runner-up.

Chris Smith (Glory Boys) won section C from peg 18.

Overall, Rebels came second to Iffers Blue.

Steve Jeffries (Forest Nomads) took the individual knockout, the Wye Angling Cup, and Nick Oakley of the Glory Boys headed the individual points table from previous winner Alan Simmonds.
