SUPERB weather made the Forest Trails Autumn Half Marathon an event to savour, with more than 740 making it back to the Speech House finish line.

The Rotary Club's John Freeman set the runners on their way over a course with no road crossings and some interesting hill challenges.

John Barnes (Cheltenham County Harriers) won the race in 1hr 19mins, 10 secs, ahead of Skipton's Jon Mawson; Tim Grant of Muddy Mucky Monkeys; Full On Tri Club's Lee Davies and Steve Yates of Cirencester.

Katie Beecher, running from Les Croupier Running Club, was the leading lady in 1.27.37.
