BIRMINGHAM-based runner Kevin McMillan finished ahead of almost 700 other athletes to win the Forest of Dean Autumn Half Marathon on Sunday.
McMillan (Birmingham Running Athletics & Triathlon Club) finished the 13.2-mile course two minutes ahead of second-placed Steve Kenyon in 1.18.19
Adam Newton of Swansea Harriers AC came third in 1.21.26 and first lady home was Faye Johnson (Pontypool District RC) in 1.35.19. Johnson finished 42nd overall.
Starting and finishing at Speech House, the multi-terrain route used a number of Forestry Commission trails and included a 400ft gradual climb in elevation after three miles.
John Hamilton was the highest-placed Forester, as the Forest of Dean AC member came 10th overall and eighth in the men’s senior category.
FODAC’s John Russell and Dan Sandford both finished in the top 20, coming 14th and 17th respectively.
The trio won the men’s team prize while Andrew Callard was the fastest member of Newent Runners to complete the course in 1.41.38.
Other club results saw Emma Pool in 1.51.29, Chloe Barnes in 2.02.22 and Karen Johnson in 2.13.46.
Christian Jones of Wye Valley Runners finished atop the Male Veteran 40 category, and Micheal Strange (FODAC) won the MV60 category.
Clubmate Andrew Thorpe came third in the MV50, while the Female Veteran 45 was dominated by the Forest club.
Catherine Roberts, who was fourth lady overall, came top in 1.40.09, while Sherryl Hall and Mel Ruck rounded out the category’s top three.
Jacqui Wynds also won the FV60 in 1.56.11.
