A NEW hospital could be established in the Dean, meaning more operations could be carried out here, rather than in Gloucester.

The proposal to launch a brand new hospital in the Forest is currently being discussed by the Friends of Lydney Hospital and Gloucestershire Care Services.

Mary Thurston, secretary for the Friends of Lydney Hospital, says Lydney's current hospital and the Dilke Hospital are 'under no threat of closure'.
