DRYBROOK started brightly but fell behind to a seventh minute penalty, awarded for tackling a man without the ball.

Barton Hill pressed towards the Drybrook line midway through the half, but their pushover attempts were foiled by offside defenders. It resulted in a penalty-try being conceded, which was duly converted.

Drybrook continued to play positively but could find no way through the home defence.

On 25 minutes, they conceded a try from a catch-and drive at a line-out.

Andy Milner kicked a 31st minute penalty for Drybrook when a Barton Hill player was penalised for holding on to the ball.

From the restart, Barton Hill regained possession in the Drybrook 22, spun the ball wide and scored in the corner.

Drybrook showed more determination than in previous weeks, but Barton Hill still camped in their half for the first 20 minutes of the second period.

They were repelled by some heroic defending.

Dan Large came on as a blood replacement for Mitch Browning and there was also a debut for second-row replacement Ben Warren.

Barton Hill scored again from a penalty 10m out. They opted for a scrum and touched down in the corner.

Barton Hill raised their game and added two more unconverted tries following a good spell of possession and some incisive running from their backs.

Drybrook never gave up though, and showed a good deal of spirit throughout the afternoon.
