FORMER miner Dave Harvey says it's time for Cinderford to let go of the past and bulldoze what remains of Northern United.

One of the Forest's best known freeminers is urging councillors to back plans to drive a spine road through the heart of the colliery buildings.

Mr Harvey, 73, worked at the mine until it closed at Christmas in 1965.

He says the old outbuildings do not bring back any fond memories of his time underground.
