A temporary road closure will be in place on Heywood Road in Cinderford later this month to allow essential works to take place.

Gloucestershire County Council has confirmed that the road will be closed from Sunday, February 16 to Saturday, February 22. During this period, access will be restricted in line with a temporary traffic management plan.

Emergency vehicles and pedestrians will still be able to access the area throughout the closure. Access to the nearby car park will also be maintained, although this will be limited on one day during the works to allow for a road crossing. Further details on this restriction are expected to be confirmed and shared once they are received.

Temporary diversion routes will be clearly signposted, with advance warning signs in place to alert motorists to the closure and guide traffic around the affected section of road. These will include signs indicating the start and end of the diversion route, directions from approaching junctions, and warnings of the road closure ahead.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to follow the signed diversion routes while the works are carried out.

Residents and businesses in the area are encouraged to plan ahead, particularly on the day when car park access may be limited.
