BBC'S Crimewatch programme has reinvestigating one of the Forest's unsolved deaths - the hit and run death of Shaun James who died in December 2002.
Shaun was a 32-year-old builder and father-of-three from Cinderford who was found dying in Sawmills Lane in Steam Mills at 7pm on December 15, 2002. The driver of the hit and vehicle has never been found.
He had been hit by a vehicle and dragged along underneath it. But despite extensive investigations by Gloucestershire Police at the time, no one has ever been brought to justice over his death.
The file into the incident has remained open ever since and as part of a review of cold cases it has frequently been re-examined.
But now Shaun's partner of seven years Lisa McStraw, who makes an annual pilgrimage to his grave, has given an emotional appeal to the programme makers seeking witnesses to the incident to come forward so that the family can finally have closure over his death.
