In an error-strewn game where both kickers had off days, Lydney won out with a Paul Scott try and a lone Ross Webb penalty.

Hertford scored the only points of a disjointed first half with a 39th minute try from Adam Roberts.

On 51 minutes, Webb finally landed a shot at goal, then 13 minutes later Paul Scott squeezed over for the decisive score.

Hertford should have taken at least a draw, but Richardson missed a straightforward penalty shot five minutes from the end.
