Drivers in Lydney are being warned of a temporary road closure next month as Gloucestershire County Council prepares to carry out essential manhole cover works on Newerne Street.

The county council has announced plans to temporarily close part of Newerne Street between properties numbered 33-39 and 45, affecting a stretch of road measuring approximately 30 metres.

The closure is scheduled to be in place on Sunday, November 15 from 8am to 4pm.

A diversion route will be in operation. The council said pedestrian access to homes and businesses on or next to the affected section of road will be maintained, while emergency vehicles will continue to have access if required.

Although the work is expected to be completed on November 15, the order allows the restriction to remain in force for up to 18 months.
