A 27-year-old Lydney man has admitted driving while three and a half times over the alcohol limit – and with illegal levels of two drugs in his bloodstream.

Morgan Jenkins of Daffodil Drive, Lydney, also pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to two assaults – one on a woman and the other on a police officer.

He has been bailed until 30th November for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

Jenkins admitted that on 8th February this year he drove a Vauxhall Corsa on Allaston Road, Lydney, with excess cocaine and Benzoylecgonine in his blood as well as an alcohol level of 129 mcgs on the breath. The legal limit for alcohol is 35mcgs.

He further admitted that on 29th June in Lydney he assaulted a police constable during the execution of the officer’s duty – and that on 2nd September 2026 he assaulted a woman by beating her, also in Lydney.

The magistrates imposed an interim driving disqualification on Jenkins pending sentence – and made it a condition of his bail that he does not contact two prosecution witnesses - including the woman he is accused of assaulting – or any members of their families.
