Two new planning applications have been advertised in the Forest of Dean, including proposals for a major new care home development in Cinderford and solar panels at a property in Alvington.

Gloucestershire County Council has received plans for a two-storey care home on land at the corner of Foxes Bridge Road and Valley Road, Cinderford. The scheme would provide 80 bedrooms, associated day spaces, a café, car parking and landscaped gardens.

The application, reference 26/0060/FDR3MJ, is available to view through the county council's planning portal.

Meanwhile, Forest of Dean District Council has received an application for the installation of 26 solar panels on the roof of a home known as Byways on Main Road, Alvington, near Lydney.

The proposal, reference P0963/26/FUL, has been advertised as works within a conservation area.
