A STRETCH of road described as a 'death trap' has claimed another victim.
Motorcyclist James Baker, 45, from Lydney, was killed on the A48 near Woolaston on Saturday.
He was riding an orange Honda CBR motorbike towards Lydney at about 7pm when the vehicle left the road and collided with a parked silver Vauxhall Combi van close to the Woolaston Inn.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics arrived via air ambulance.
The road was closed for three-and-a-half hours.
Former councillor and Woolaston resident Alastair Fraser called the road 'a death trap'.
He said: "I have known it for years and years and it's had a number of fatalities.
"It's very dangerous. The hatching that they have put down makes it very treacherous and the dip in the road causes a huge problem too.
"It's probably the fastest bit of road on the A48."
