"SAT there in the darkness with the Star Destroyer coming overhead, that big bang with the doors opening and the Stormtroopers coming in... that was it. From then on, I wanted to be a Stormtrooper."
Fortysomething dad Darren Phelps has been hooked on Star Wars since he was a kid, and can vividly remember going to see the original George Lucas epic at the cinema back in 1977.
It's something he's never grown out of.
Today, the painter and decorator still likes nothing better than to dress up as a Stormtrooper and act out his own sci-fi fantasies at charity events and Star Wars get-togethers.
Darren, from Cinderford, said: "I remember queuing for several hours outside the cinema in Gloucester to watch what I think was one the last showings.
