NHS Gloucestershire reminded residents to use their local pharmacy if they suffer with hay fever symptoms.
The reminder comes as the weather improves and pollen count increases.
Hay fever can affect many people. While there is no exact figure for hay fever sufferers in the Forest of Dean, or in Gloucestershire, it is estimated that up to 30 per cent of adults in the UK are affected.
An NHS Gloucestershire spokesperson said: “This time of year can be difficult if you have hay fever.
“If you experience troublesome hay fever symptoms, you can get treatment at your local pharmacy. Your community pharmacist will be able to offer you advice and medicines with no need for a prescription.”
