Four men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted theft in connection with a cashpoint raid at Brierley Garage.

Police received a report of four men in balaclavas with collars up going back and forth from the forecourt to a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

The incident happened shortly before 1.40am on Tuesday.

Four men were arrested in Gloucester roughly an hour later on suspicion of attempted theft in connection with the incident.

The men, all from Gloucester and aged 20, 20, 27 and 32, were questioned at Gloucester Police Station.
