UPMARKET fish suppliers Severn and Wye Smokery look set to get the go-ahead for expansion plans which have upset some neighbours.

Officials are recommending that councillors give planning permission for the scheme which originally sparked a storm of local protest.

The row started when the smokery, which supplies upmarket customers such as Harrods, applied for planning permission to create two giant lagoons for excess water.

The report will go before the development control committee at the Forest of Dean District Council on Tuesday.
