TWO Lydney women are to stand trial accused of stealing a television and wall unit from a Coleford man’s home last year.
Billie Jo-Bullock, 28, of Pylers Way, Lydney, and Alison Bollen, also 28, of Severnbank Avenue, are both alleged to have committed the offence of ‘theft in a dwelling’ (other than an automatic machine or meter) on September 18, 2025.
They have both been bailed to await a trial, estimated to last three hours, at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on May 10 next year.
At a hearing last week, the magistrates gave pre-trial directions including a warning to the prosecution that any additional evidence is likely to be excluded if it is not served two weeks before the trial.
The court also warned that if a schedule of unused prosecution material has not been served 3 weeks before the trial the defence must list the case for mention.
The court said: “If the Unused Material is served within two days of the trial and it sensibly gives rise to the need for a defence statement, any application to adjourn will fall to be made by the prosecution.
“This application is highly unlikely to be granted if the reason is the reviewing lawyer is on leave/ill, or lack of staff, or lack of response from the police to requests for Unused Material. In those circumstances the Crown, it is anticipated, will have to offer no evidence.”
