A VINTAGE Tea Party has raised over £1,000, during a delightful afternoon of tea, dancing and friendship.

Supporters of Great Oaks Hospice enjoyed the day at Lydney Town Hall on Sunday, August 23, raising £1,074 for the hospice’s vital services.

Guests were treated to delicious cream teas prepared by Gill Drew, known by many as Nanny Knit Knit, and her daughter Julie. Gill baked an incredible 250 scones for attendees to enjoy.

The event also featured vintage-themed goods for sale from the Great Oaks Hospice shops, while local DJ Pete Stead kept the dance floor busy throughout the afternoon with a selection of brilliant tunes that had guests dancing the day away.

The charity thanked everyone who attended and supported the event, as well as the team of volunteers and helpers.

A spokesperson for Great Oaks Hospice said: "We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for our Annual Vintage Tea Party. It was a wonderful community event and a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all.

“We would especially like to thank Gill and Julie for their incredible baking efforts, our volunteers, Pete Stead for providing the music, and everyone who helped make the day such a success."

The dancers helped create a wonderful atmosphere throughout the afternoon, and Lydney Town Hall provided the perfect setting, with its spacious dance floor allowing them to showcase some impressive moves.
