Cinderford trump Lydney for chance of grant funding to regenerate town centre

CINDERFORD have the chance for millions of pounds of government money to regenerate their town.

A £2.3 million ‘expressions of interest’ application, under the government’s Future High Streets Fund, by Cinderford is set to be backed by the Forest of Dean District Council ahead of another application for £14.8 million by Lydney.

The successful application has, though, met with dismay from Lydney Town Council, with members claiming that the government are looking for ‘Hollywood projects’.
