PAUL Boston has left Cinderford for National Three London & South East outfit Ampthill.

The 29-year-old fitness trainer from Abingdon originally hails from Scotland and represented his country at schools, under-19s, 21s and sevens levels.

Another former Cinderford player, Ben Saville, has also signed for Ampthill.

Boston, who can play on the wing or in the centre, initially joined Cinderford in 2009.

He made 22 first XV appearances last term, scoring two tries.

Jake Boer won't be returning to Cinderford anytime soon either.

Back-row Boer was appointed defensive coach at Dockham Road last season, but had to fly home suddenly to South Africa for business and personal reasons.

Fly-half Mark Davies has been given a contract at Bristol, where he will battle it out for the number 10 shirt with another Cinderford old boy Tristan Roberts.

Scrum-half Sam Brown is also departing, having joined Moseley.

Squad players Billy Blair, James Ciaburro and Rikki Stout are others moving on, while Chris Hall and Dave Knight are said to be wavering about whether they want to commit to another season of National One rugby.

The various departures pave the way for Cinderford to make a number of summer signings.

Director of rugby Andy Deacon said he wanted to tie up the various deals before making any announcements about new signings.

However, he admitted the list of new faces set to join Cinderford was 'growing'.
