ELLWOOD took on two of the stronger sides in the County League this week with mixed results.

On Saturday, they came back from 3-1 down against King's Stanley to win 5-3.

Ben Newman opened the scoring for Stanley in the 25th minute when he bent his free-kick around the wall into the top corner.

Liam Gale made it 2-0, but Derek Roberts kept Ellwood in the game with a 25-yard screamer.

Stanley went 3-1 up through Lee Pritchard, but two goals in as many minutes from Matt Addis levelled things up.

Ellwood keeper Tim Yemm made a brilliant penalty save to give his side renewed confidence.

When they were awarded a penalty of their own in the 80th minute, Jamie Addis coolly slotted.

Lee Scotford wrapped things up with a fifth goal three minutes from the end.

Ellwood were in action again on Monday, losing 5-3 to unbeaten Cribbs Friends Life.

Jamie Addis scored twice for the Foresters, with Mike Nelson grabbing the other goal.
