COACH Duncan Bell was still seething on Monday morning. This was definitely a match Lydney could have won. Paul Kiely dropped out with a calf injury and Leigh Green was ill, so Sam Winchcombe came into the front-row with Sam Thompson and Ben Taylor in the second-row. Despite playing up the slope, Lydney dominated the first half but failed to turn pressure into points. A 19th minute penalty from Tony Wicks turned out to be their only score in the entire match as Dings ran in three tries on the counter-attack through Joe Joyce (2) and James Oakley. Mark Woodrow kicked three conversions and a penalty. It leaves Lydney battling for their lives, with a crunch home encounter against relegation rivals Bournemouth this Saturday.
