COACH Danny Haines says he'd love to see more local boys in the Cinderford Town squad.

Haines has been hugely impressed by Kieran Thomas, since the right-sided player from Soudley came in on loan from Cheltenham Town.

He said: "Kieran's been a fantastic addition the squad, he's young, strong, quick and fit.

"He's still learning the game and this is his first real taste of men's football but I've been impressed. He couldn't have had a tougher start – his first game was at Leamington, then he found himself up against someone as experienced as Scott Murray when we played Clevedon. He coped really well.

"It's good to have some local boys in the squad and we've got Kieran until the end of the season."

One player who's not been seen at The Causeway recently is left-winger Dean Lee, who was a regular in the side during the first couple of months of the campaign.

Haines said: "We're not sure where we are with Dean and he's made the decision to take a break.

"We want him here, but he did not turn up for training as promised. There are a couple of commitment issues but if he comes to us, he's welcome back."
