IN many ways this match on Tuesday night summed up Cinderford's season.

They were the better side for much of the game, but failed to take their chances.

Lewis Sommers dropped to the bench just before the kick-off because he was not feeling well. Aaron Cornwall came into the starting 11.

Two goals from Goodger gave Hungerford a healthy lead at the break but both efforts came from mistakes, with keeper Alex Harris culpable.

Cinderford continued to play some decent football with Nick McCootie superb in midfield.

Mike Whittington missed a glorious chance for the Foresters, who eventually pulled a goal back through Cornwall on 76 minutes.

Even when they lost Andy Lewis to a knee injury, Cinderford still matched Hungerford all over the park.

Against the top teams this season results have generally gone against Steve Peters's side. However, most of their opponents, including Hungerford, have walked off the field breathing a collective sigh of relief.
