CINDERFORD youngster Tom Reynolds was "chuffed" after being selected to represent the Welsh Athletics Team last week at the Welsh International Championship in Leckwith, Cardiff.

The 15-year-old Monmouth Comprehensive student helped to set a time of 41.9 seconds for his 4x100m relay team, which was enough to see them finish third.

Running against athletes as much as five years older than him, Tom also challenged in the U20s Men's 100m, putting in a time of 11.5 seconds.

"I was quite chuffed because I wasn't expecting to get into the squad," Tom said.

"I felt a bit nervous going into it but a lot of the pressure was off because I was so much younger.

"I'm really proud though and I really enjoyed it."
