Blaydon 31
Cinderford 24
A CONVERTED 75th minute try from Frazer Wilson condemned Cinderford to their first defeat in five matches.
However, the game was probably lost in a 10 minute first half spell in which Cinderford conceded three tries while Blaydon had a man in the sin-bin.
The visitors made a bright enough start and winger Nevaro Codlin burst through the home defence for his 11th try of the campaign after 12 minutes of play. Rory Teague converted the effort.
Blaydon hit back with that stunning three-try burst inside seven minutes, despite having flanker Keith Laughlin in the sin-bin.
A penalty-try was awarded after Cinderford infringed at three short scrums, then winger Kevin McShane took advantage of a loose pass to run in unopposed.
Full-back Tom Catterick squeezed in at the corner to put Blaydon 19-7 ahead with just 23 minutes up on the clock.
Cinderford rallied with a try from flanker Will Foden, who showed a good turn of speed to get to the line. Teague converted.
However, on the stroke of half-time Rob Bell was driven over to make it 24-14 to the hosts.
As the second-half progressed Cinderford appeared to be getting on top and centre Simeon James burst through for a try, which Teague converted.
Teague then slotted a penalty to make it 24-24 with 10 minutes to go.
It was Blaydon, however, who scored a dramatic late winner when possession was gifted back to them.
Winger Frazer Wilson finished off a flowing move in fine style with a blistering break down the right wing, and Baggett added his third conversion of the afternoon.
Cinderford hooker Sam Wilkes said: "I don't think Blaydon were particularly good, although they had a couple of Falcons players in.
"Two of their tries came from our errors and we didn't really show up until the second half."
Cinderford: Mike Wilcox (Danny Trigg 74), Nev Codlin, Simeon James, Rob Winchle, Kai Done, Rory Teague, Danny Pointon (Luke Carter 14), Joe Smart (Chris Bundy 55), Sam Wilkes (Tom Bozzard 74), Yann Thomas, Ben West, Ed King, Luke Allen, Will Foden (Jake Kitson 74), George Evans (capt).
