AFTER previously announcing Will Jones as their first-team captain for the coming season, Lydney Rugby Club have been forced to rethink their plans.

Matt Taylor will now take on the captaincy for 2012/13 – and it's uncertain Jones will even be a Lydney player next year. The talented back-row has been linked with a move to Stourbridge.

Following the departures of rugby director Nick Bartlett and forwards coach Don Parsons, the club still has not announced its coaching set-up for the campaign ahead, although head coach Paul Morris remains in place.

It could be all change on the field too, with many of last year's squad not coming back. Leigh Green and last year's leading try scorer and player of the year, Josh Hannam, have signed for Cinderford.

Craig Jones and James Bashford have left for Stroud and Dave Emery, Jimmy Roberts and Tai Lakabuka are moving up the road to Bream.

Steve Price, Nick Selway and Brett Turner are expected to leave Regentsholme for pastures new. Selway is another to attract the interest of Cinderford.

Thursday night's first training session will be led by a new fitness and conditioning coach.
