CINDERFORD lock Jack Shields picked up the club’s two big player awards at the Forester’s annual diner and awards evening.

21-year-old second row Shields won the Beavis Cup for the First XV Players’ Player of the Year award as well as the supporters’ club award.

Sam Baker was named player of the year for the United, while the Stags award went to Danny Parry.

Dave Didcote was named Bucks player of the year and a special award was given to retiring coach Steve Bevan.

Captain George Porter was hailed as the club’s best front-row man, while Will Baldwin was honoured as the club’s best Colt.

Paul Lydiard won the club personality of the year award.

James Moffat was the club’s first XV leading points scorer as they finished seventh in National Two South, with 259. Porter made the most appearances for the side, leading the way as an ever-present in Cinderford’s 30 league games.

Sam Goatley and Harrison Yorke were joint-top try-scorers with eight each in a season that saw Cinderford win more than half of their fixtures.

The United finished 10th in the Zoo Sports Shield Division One, with Danny Pointon leading the points scoring with 85.

Sam Baker made the most appearances with 17 while Jack O’Connell scored six tries.

The Stags were winners of the Forest Combination Junior Cup and finished third in the South West Pilot League, while the Bucks won the Forest Combination Minor Cup.
