BERRY Hill have named New Zealander Dan Koster as their new club coach.

Koster, 27, has recently signed as a player with Championship side Hartpury from Cornish Pirates and plays at either centre or on the wing.

He is a former Canterbury B player, with both try-scoring and defensive credentials.

Koster was weights room manager at his old school, Shirley Boys High School in Christchurch and a self-employed personal trainer.

A club statement read: “Berry Hill RFC are pleased to announce that they have signed Kiwi Dan Koster as their new club coach.

“In 2016 he was a finalist for Snap Fitness Australasia trainer of the year, so is an outstanding expert in his field.

“With his wealth of experience both on and off the playing field, Dan is ideal for getting the players fit and increasing their skills and awareness for the new season.”

Training takes place at Berry Hill on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning at 6.30pm.

“Any potential new players who wish to join in the training and play for the club under this exciting new coach, are very welcome,” a club spokesman added.

’We are a welcoming club all round and the clubhouse facilities are at present undergoing a superb upgrade.”
