WILL Goodrick-Clarke, the dual-registration prop from Gloucester, has come into the Cinderford side for their first away game of the National League One campaign.
Goodrick-Clarke is one of four changes to Cinderford’s starting line-up after what director of rugby Nic Corrigan called ‘a disappointing result’ at home to Darlington Mowden Park.
The Foresters were beaten 37-24 at Dockham Road last week and travel to Blackheath tomorrow for their first trip to the capital in 2015/16.
Goodrick-Clarke replaces Chris Bundy, who is a replacement this week, while Milo Reynolds comes off the bench to take Roger Birkin’s spot at second row.
Marcus Brown comes in at Sid Blackmore’s number 7 berth, and Jimmy Williams takes new signing Louis Silver’s place at scrum-half.
“Whilst we saw some character last week against Darlington we need to sharpen up and learn our lessons,” Corrigan said.
“National One isn’t an environment to start slowly. Blackheath is a traditional club in the city and could not be a sterner test.
“Mike Friday needs no introduction as their Head Coach and behind him will be a well versed and direct team who if we are not respectful will be ruthless.”
Corrigan added he was ‘delighted’ to welcome Luke Cole back into the squad on dual registration from Gloucester.
Cinderford squad v Blackheath: Mike Wilcox (capt), Lucas Slowik, Sam Hanks, Robbie Winchle, Alex Pickersgill, James Moffat, Jimmy Williams; Will Goodrick-Clarke, Davy McGregor, Francisco Bruno, Milo Reynolds, Matt Lane, George Mills, Marcus Brown, Jack Shields.
Replacements: Chris Bundy, Luke Cole, Will Scholes, Louis Silver, Ben Penfold.
