Cinderford Town 0

CLASSY Bideford stretched their unbeaten run to 21 games with a deserved win over Cinderford on Saturday.

The runaway league leaders dominated in all departments and put the visitors under severe pressure.

Cinderford played well for the first 15 minutes but Ian Sampson opened the scoring on 21 minutes by turning in an Andrews cross.

Town keeper Alex Harris was then punished for a poor clearance when Groves seized on the loose ball and sent it back past him from 35-yards.

It was 3-0 before the break when Downing capitalised on a Warren Archer mistake.

Groves drilled home the fourth goal in the second half with a strike from the edge of the box.

It was damage limitation for Cinderford in the second period as they struggled to get out of their own half for long spells.

Bideford's defence was rock solid, providing no way through for Town strikers Nick McCootie and Aaron Cornwall.

Town boss Steve Peters said: "We let ourselves down a bit and we let down the 50-60 supporters who paid good money to come and watch us.

"We've got to improve on that.

"Bideford are a strong side but I wouldn't say they are world beaters. We made three bad individual errors through our right-back, our keeper and our left-back and it was game over."
