Bridgwater Town 1
Cinderford Town 0
A SECOND half header from Ross MacNab gave Bridgwater a fourth consecutive league victory at Cinderford's expense.
Town boss Steve Peters made one significant change from the team that beat Evesham in midweek, bringing in Dean Lee and dropping Lee Smith to the bench. Club captain Geraint Bater, unavailable for the Evesham game, also had to settle for a sub's vest.
Defences generally ruled the roost with neither side creating many clear cut chances.
Cinderford dominated possession, but the game became something of a midfield stalemate.
Bridgwater's only meaningful attack came midway through the second half. MacNab won a corner and was then on hand to meet Jon Vance's cross with a firm header past Alex Harris.
On a heavy pitch both sides struggled for fluency.
Lewis Sommers had a shot smartly saved by Purnell, while Scott Wilson was pulled down when about to race through on goal. The Bridgwater offender was lucky to escape with a yellow card.
Wilson got a yellow card himself later in the match, which means he will miss the game at Poole Town on November 24.
This Saturday, Cinderford are at home to Didcot Town.
Cinderford Town: Alex Harris, Warren Archer, Danny Haines, Alex Evans, Dan Harrison, Matt Barnes, Dave Bird, Dale Evans, Dean Lee, Lewis Sommers, Scott Wilson. Subs: Ashley Malcolm, Geraint Bater, Andy Lewis, Lee Smith, Greg Lewis.
