FOREST Hills will host the 2013 County Junior Team Championships on Good Friday – the first time that any golf club has held the tournament three years in a row.
Forest Hills Juniors won last year's event and went on to represent the county at the National Junior Team Championships at Woodhall Spa, finishing third overall.
The club, owned by Ed and Alison Breton, has been very busy over the winter months improving and building on the developments started during 2012.
One of the main developments has been the introduction of Astroturf for the paths.
Although not complete, members are already seeing the benefits of an all-weather surface. The plan is to eventually have paths all around the course, enabling buggies and trolleys to be used all year round without harming the course.
Bunkers have been reshaped on the impressive closing 18th hole, which can be seen from the balcony over looking the course.
Two new greenkeeping machines were recently purchased and the course will be looking better than ever for the County Championships.
As the trees grow bigger, there will be less of a need for long grass off the fairways.
