Tynedale 14

FOR 50 minutes of this match Tynedale looked set to complete the double over a below-par Cinderford team.

However, a dramatic late surge saw the home side score an incredible 40 points in the final 30 minutes to emerge convincing winners.

Visiting outside-half Joel Hodgson and Cinderford's Rory Teague exchanged penalties early in the match, before Hodgson showed good skills to create a try for himself and put his team 8-3 ahead after 27 minutes.

Two further penalties from the young Newcastle Academy player gave Tynedale a deserved 14-3 lead at the interval.

Several team changes helped Cinderford spring to life with the likes of Mike Wilcox, Will Foden and Luke Carter coming off the bench.

Number eight George Evans stole down the blindside from a ruck to score an unconverted try, then outstanding hooker Sam Wilkes added another try, which Teague converted.

A terrific run from winger Nevaro Codlin put skipper Evans over for his second touchdown as the floodgates well and truly opened.

Simeon James was next to score, racing under the posts from a set play, with man of the match Teague again adding the extras.

Evans completed his hat-trick, much to the approval of the home crowd.

With five minutes remaining Pete Towers finished off a flowing move to score Cinderford's sixth try.
