A PAIR of young gymnasts from Forest of Dean Gymnastic Club competed in an international competition in Russia last month, with both picking up individual honours.

Sixteen-year-old Josh Cooper and nine-year-old Iwan Scrivens were entered into the Michail Genkin International Memorial Gymnastic Competition in Veronezh and were given tours of Moscow as well as competing in Eastern Europe.

Joshua's excellent performance on pommels helped him finish fifth overall during the first day's six-piece 'all-round' apparatus competition, and then winning a silver medal on the parallel bars on day two.
