THE man who managed Cinderford Town to their historic Southern League West Division title two years ago has joined local rivals Lydney Town.

John Brough, pictured below, has signed on as a coach at Hellenic League Premier Division side Lydney to work with manager Mark Lee.

Brough left Cinderford after winning the league with the Causeway club and has managed fellow Southern League side North Leigh for the past two seasons.

But the former Hereford, Cheltenham Town and Shrewsbury Town defender left North Leigh earlier this summer.

Previously, Brough managed Bishop’s Cleeve after coaching at Cheltenham Town’s academy.

“We are delighted to announce that former Hereford and Cheltenham Town player John Brough will join the coaching staff this season,” a Lydney Town spokesperson said on Twitter.

“John is a southern league title winning manager with Cinderford Town and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the club.”
