LYDNEY Town’s new boss Rich Kear is chomping at the bit ahead of the new Hellenic League Premier Division season.
Kear’s side travel to recent Premier Division winners Flackwell Heath on Saturday for their first league match of the campaign.
The 190-mile round trip to South Buckinghamshire could be a daunting start to the season, but Kear says his squad’s enthusiasm won’t be dampened by the two-hour journey.
“I don’t think those trips are so bad this early on,” he added.
“I think if you were later in the season and needing points, it’s a different matter but I think we’re all too excited to get going to worry about it.
“I’m more focussed on us and how we’re going to be as a team.”
