HARROW Hill have been called in to replace Stroud Harriers in the Reg Davis Cup final next month after their semi-final opponents were kicked out of the competition.

Hill were defeated 2-0 by Harriers at Larksfield Road last weekend but the Northern Senior Two outfit fielded an ineligible player during their trip to the Forest.

Hill will now take on Newent Town in an all-Forest final on Wednesday October 5 at Slimbridge AFC’s Wisloe Road ground.

“This will feel like karma for the side that reached the final of the 2014/15 GFA County Cup before being disqualified for exactly the same reason,” a statement from the club read.

“The club would like to see as much support as possible from all the sides and supporters. Up the Hill!”

Newent are looking to retain the trophy they won last year in a dramatic comeback victory at the same venue.

Town won 3-2 against Stonehouse Town after going 2-0 down in the first half an hour.
