HARTPURY FC made it back-to-back home wins on Tuesday night as two early goals secured a deserved 2–0 victory over Didcot Town at the 4ED Hartpury Stadium.
The Acorns struck twice inside the opening ten minutes to extend their home unbeaten run to eight games and move to four matches without defeat in the Southern League Division One South.
Hartpury wasted little time in taking control. With less than five minutes on the clock, Billy Osborn swept home from close range after meeting a low cross from Nathan Jenkins, giving the hosts the perfect start.
The pressure continued and just four minutes later the lead was doubled. Jenkins was again the provider, driving another dangerous ball across the face of goal which was turned into his own net by Didcot captain Adam Learoyd under pressure.
Jenkins almost added a goal of his own midway through the half but volleyed over, while Tomos Shyamapant later saw an effort blocked after neat build-up play involving Leon Machisa and Louis Manning. Didcot threatened briefly before the break, with Jenson Wright firing a volley narrowly wide, but Hartpury went in comfortably ahead at the interval.
The visitors showed more intent after the restart and tested Seth Locke, who produced a sharp save from Cameron Mills before denying Owen James in a one-on-one during a sustained spell of pressure. The Railwaymen also struck the post as Hartpury were forced to dig in.
At the other end, Osborn and Vanylson Silva both went close as the Acorns looked to put the game beyond doubt. Silva thought he had done so in stoppage time, only for an offside flag to rule out his deflected finish.
Hartpury saw out the closing stages to seal another clean sheet and will look to build on the momentum when they travel to Shaftesbury AFC on Saturday.
