CINDERFORD Town boss Allan Gough has invited players from across the Dean to try out for his and joint-manager Chris Burns’ new-look side.
Gough, who took the reigns with Burns earlier this month, has called for local hopefuls to attend Town’s first training session this summer ahead of their maiden campaign in the Southern League Premier Division.
Training takes place on Saturday at the Causeway from 11am-1pm.
“Any local players are more than welcome,” Gough said.
“We wanted to bring in as many Forest players to come in our side and with the budget being much less we’ll be looking even closer at local players.
“We’re going to have a meeting at 10.30am first off but training starts at 11.
“I’ve got a few players lined up but it’s quite hard with the money now. We had a lot of players interested but since we’ve been moved into the Premier Division many of them have changed their minds.
“There are clubs like North Leigh offering £120 a week to players and we just can’t match that.
“Chris and I have taken on a difficult job but we’re going to do the best we can with the budget we’ve got.
“It’s a big step up but if the players are good enough they should come and have a go.”
