ALEX Gooding took five wickets as Lydney steam-rollered Great Rissington.

The visitors from the Cotswolds were skittled out for 59 and Lydney needed just 14.3 overs to secure the win.

The seven-wicket victory the Second Division leaders 21 points.

Gooding accounted for the first three wickets with just 33 runs on the board.

Opener Mitchell Thomas went lbw for 13 runs with the score on 20.

His replacement, Giles Wellman was caught by Niall Holford for a duck with Rissington having added 10 to their total.

Gooding then made it 33-3 when the other opener, Charles was caught leg before for 11.

The captain struck again when he tempted Michael Scarrott to hit a high one which was caught by Dafydd Nicholas.

Scarrott had scored two and Rissington were in trouble on 37-4 but worse was to come with three wickets falling on 48.

Gooding bowled skipper George .Garratt for five, Jordan Stone had Alex Hope lbw for four and then Stone clattered the wickets for 48-7.

Gooding was back in the action when he caught Will Marchant for one off Callum Miller for 55-8 and the innings closed when Jack O’Connell had Ryan Dixon lbw for one.

Openers Alex Nelmes and Jonathan Kear put on 45 before Nelmes was caught for 25 and Niall Holford went to a catch with the score on 49.

Kear and Alex Antoine saw out the innings with Antoine hitting three fours from the five balls he faced for his 13 while Kear hit two boundaries as he posted a steady 20.
