Charlton Kings got off to a flying start and reached 50 after only eight overs.
Lydney struggled to take wickets on a good track, but managed to slow down the scoring to leave the visitors on 110-2 at the halfway mark.
Swing bowler Paul Morris and spinner Will Jones put the brakes on the run rate, with Will reeling off 10 tidy overs for 2-26.
Peter Glynn, Paul Morris and James Legge finished with two wickets apiece as Kings lost their last five wickets for just 28 runs. They were bowled out for 222, with Chris Downes top scoring on 57. In reply, Lydney lost Will Jones for nought to a catch behind the wicket.
However, Jonny Kear (83 not out), Jake Bonser (58) and Charlie Bendall (65 not out) took command to see Lydney through to victory with eight overs to spare.
Both Bonser – making his first league 50 for the first XI – and Bendall scored at better than a run a ball throughout their innings'.
Kear struck 10 fours in his 123-ball knock, figuring in a stand of 92 with Bonser and an unbeaten 125 with Bendall.
