DESPITE suffering from bronchitis, Charlotte Dujardin (pictured) broke another world record aboard Valegro in her first big competition since the Olympics.

The double gold Olympian from Newent scored 84.477% in the Grand Prix set test on the opening night of the London International Horse show at Olympia.

She went on to win the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Freestyle to confirm her status as number one in the world – earning a standing ovation from the 8,000 strong crowd.

Despite claiming to feel terrible, she beat the previous world record score set by Holland's Edward Gal and Totilas in 2009 on Monday night. That means she now holds world records in two of dressage's three disciplines.

"Because it was Valegro's first show since London I thought I had better play safe so did not ask too much of him," she said.

"We messed up a few of the piaffe-passage transitions, but I'm obviously very happy with him."
