DIRECTOR of rugby Andy Deacon says he will keep his players up to their work until the last ball of the season has been kicked.

Cinderford may be in the mid-table comfort zone, but Deacon was unhappy with the performance at home to struggling Sedgley Park.

He said: "As semi-professionals, the players have responsibilities every time they pull on the shirt.

"Saturday was very disappointing, especially after the way we played the week before to win in Blaydon.

"Overall, we are where we thought we would be in terms of points, but we've been too inconsistent.

"Sedgley Park put out as strong a team as they have fielded all year against us, but there can be no excuses. We had chances to score in the first 20 minutes and didn't take them.

"They had big, heavy forwards and played low risk rugby, but they gained loads of field possession from our mistakes."

Deacon says Cinderford's target is to finish seventh.

This week, they must travel to high-flying Ealing Trailfinders.
