It’s been a remarkable year for Forest Exiles.
After gaining runners-up in their first season, the club went one better this year and won promotion from Division One of the KW Bell League.
There has been some amazing cricket played by the club’s talented players, led by skipper Ross Barnett.
The experience of Steve Say, opening the batting with young Ross Keddle has more than often set the Exiles off on the right note.
Say hit the first Exiles ton ever, also scoring three fifties and Keddle crafted out eight fifties.
Barnett was an ever reliable number three, scoring four league fifties.
There were several other useful cameos with the bat, with the likes of Reuben Elliott,Ben Howells, Joe and Jack Worgan, Connor Brackpool, Rich James, Colin Legg and Harry Barnett all scoring vital runs.
The bowling department was a family affair with the Worgans, Keddles and Brackpools all starring, taking crucial wickets through the season.
A special mention must go to Connor Brackpool, who has claimed an incredible twenty outfield catches.
Exiles also performed admirably in the Verderers’ Cup Midweek League, winning five matches out of ten.
The club are now looking forward to next season in the CGF Division and another exciting new challenge, securing a new ground at Aylburton.
